Glittering Christmas Baubles

September 11th, 2011

It’s nearly time to get busy with Christmas, so I thought it’s about time to release this year’s Christmas designs.

These tree baubles make wonderful tree decorations, they are light weight, and you could do a couple more in different colours. I also find them quite decorative on door handles.

Rajmahal art silk and metallic threads, Swarovski crystals and beads give them the right sheen and sparkle in candle light. They take a little time to do, but they’re all worth it.

The chart pack is a pack of two, and as usual available as pdf. including speciality stitching instructions form Enchanting Threads Designs.

New cross stitch design released

August 7th, 2011

Our heart belongs to us – no one could have set it better than Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. I fell in love with this saying right then when I read it. Sometimes words speak to us in a wonderful, mysterious way.

This sampler has just been added to my website – just have look. I’ve chosen an oldfashioned style hand dyed fabric with subtle variegated threads and a lovely gold frame. The design is mainly cross stitch with a few speciality stitches.

Soon to be released – Sweet Hearts Pillow

January 24th, 2011

Sweet Heart Cushion

This little initialled Hardanger Pillow is soon available as chart. It ‘s my first traditional style tone in tone Hardanger (stitched on 30 ct ecru Belgium linen with ecru Finca Presencia perle), but of course I couldn’t help myself to included a little colour and embellishments. The letters are cross stitched over one with cream Soi d’Alger.

Champagner coloured pearls and cream petite beads, together with gold metallic from Finca and a pink variegated thread from Dinky Dyes are the perfect combination. It is finished with twisted sadi thread from Rajmahal around the edges.

This little pillow makes a perfect ring pillow. Initial with the first names of bride and groom, add 2 golden ribbons to tie on the rings, and you’ve a wonderful gift they will treasure as heirloom.

Our new jewellery section

Elegance

I”ve decided that designing and stitching simply is not enough….>:)), yes I just had to add something else to it.I love pearls, crystals and different styles of glass beads e.g. When I made some smaller tassels from crystals for my designs I thought I could try some jewellery as well. Takes a little while to learn the technique, but I get there. I’ve mastered a lot of difficult embroidery, so there should not be a problem with this one.

Soon you’ll find a new handmade jewellery section on our website, with earrings in many different styles, from elegant to day to day, fancy and out of the ordinary, bracelets and necklaces. The pitctures are a glimpse of what to come and my first pieces. I need my muse to help me with ideas, and I only make pieces when I’ve good ideas and a creative phase sets in. Just like with designing – it has to be right. My selection is growing, and once I’ve a little of everything, we go online. Keep an eye on this space.
